MEET THE BAND

SUZI – VOCALS

Suzi (AKA El Destructo) had a promising career in woman’s roller derby, however after an unfortunate fatality (not legally Suzi’s fault) she had to retire from the sport and take up her other passion, rocking out. During that time she has performed across Sydney as a solo artist, writing and recording her own original music, as well as lead singer and rhythm guitarist for various bands such as Dead on Arrival and 20 Bars. Most recently, She has performed as a guest artist for the Western Sydney Music Academy.

Suzi has been keen to share her passion for music through her guitar teaching studio that she opened in early 2023 in the inner west. She’s looking forward to becoming a Dead Set legend.

MACCA – GUITARS

NATH – DRUMS

No one really knows where Nathan Hopping came from. Some say he was raised by wolves in the depths of a forest in Scandinavia. Others say he was found on a doorstep of the local pub in Penrith. What we do know is… he’s got a full head of hair and can run like the wind blows!

That’s right boys and girls, we have a new drummer. And that means you will very shortly be receiving more of those annoying FB event invites to our gigs. But make sure you come along because your faces will be melted with the drum stylings of… Nathan Hopping!

MICK – BASS

As a 13 year old, Mick picked up a bass and spent way too many nights in his school band supporting a Cold Chisel cover band that made him the biggest Barnsey fan in the world… NOT.

After a few different cover and original bands he played in Sydney metal powerhouse MAJISTER from ’92 to ’97 melting faces at many of Sydney’s iconic venues such as the Kardohma cafe, Springfields and Cobra Club. In the 2000s he played with a Sydney artist Ryan David who went on later to states. Then it was blues time to play with iconic Sydney based front man Mark Easton from the Candy Harlots in a Slide guitar based trio that played many festivals and country pubs. Next up was numerous pub gigs and country shows playing with Dai Pritchard of Rose Tattoo with his partner at the time. 2022 roll on HELLZ for a highly controversial and fun fuelled two years which really showed him the sad state of the Sydney scene…

Influenced by Steve Harris ,GEEZER butler ,John Entwhistle and more recently Johnny Christ, Mick is now ready to pump the life back into that Sydney live music scene on bass for The Dead Set!
